Dance to Perform!

Dance to Perform!

Learn about dance performance in 60 seconds

The desire to perform – it’s in all of us. Some of us don’t need encouragement, and some of us need a bit.

One thing is for sure – once people start dancing, start feeling comfortable and confident in themselves, their desire to perform grows. It’s amazing how ‘Not Me’ becomes ‘Watch Me!’ once the joy of dancing starts to take hold.

I want to be the star of the evening!

It is important that you are a solid social dancer before you embark on a routine. Routines are great fun but they take a lot of time and energy. If you’re not careful, your social dancing can fall off the radar a little bit. There are ways to ensure that you perform an amazing routine whilst still maintiaing your social dancing as well, click here to find out how.

Each QuickSteps member has their own teacher and your teacher will advise you when you are ready.

Most members will dance socially for 1 to 2 years before performing, but it depends how much prior dance experience you have.

We don’t judge at Quicksteps. Literally, we don’t judge – there are no prizes. Every year, we hold two spectacular gala events – our Winter Ball in August and Summer Ball in February. Here, students strut their stuff in front of a supportive audience, including friends and family.

This is how we perform at QuickSteps

Will you force me to perform?

Of course not!

However many people who are initially reluctant often find it to be a life-changing experience. Remember, you are not up there on your own. Most of the time, your own dance teacher is actually up on the stage dancing with you. So there’s always someone to help if you need it.
